Brent Keogh is an Australian Music Centre represented composer and multi-instrumentalist, performing on the Arabic oud, mandolin, mandola and guitar. His research interests involve intercultural composition, global music industries, and the environmentality of music production. He studied the Egyptian oud with Joseph Tawadros (AM), classical mandolin with Fiona Horbach and Alon Sariel, and was mentored by composer Tristan Coelho through Ensemble Offspring's Home Hatched Academy. Keogh has received commissions by ABC classic, the Northern Beaches Council, and Juno: the North West Intercultural Orchestra. Keogh has written for some of Australia’s finest musicians, including Grammy-nominated harpist Emily Granger, classical guitarist Andrew Blanch, the Sydney Mandolin Orchestra, clarinettist Maryanne Piper and ACO violist Liz Woolnough, and his compositions have been broadcast on ABC classic radio. He has also collaborated with Dr. Robert Sazdov and Dr. Greg Ferris producing an immersive audio-visual recording of the Joseph Tawadros Quartet that premiered at the UTS Data Arena in 2021. |
